Digitalizing asset management for a Dutch public transportation operator
Over the course of three months, Nova Mobility Consulting was part of a bi-party consulting team brought in to support the asset management department of a Dutch public transportation operator in developing and implementing a digitalization framework and process to improve the maintenance of its trams, metro vehicles, buses, and tram-related infrastructure. Nova Mobility led the failure and maintenance cost analysis and the development of the digitalization framework, which included the development of dashboards to display specific subsystems’ business criticality and current need/ease of digitalization, as well as collecting innovation ideas to address identified common failures and the expected ROI of innovation projects. The asset management department embraced the developed process immediately since they were heavily involved in shaping it, and rolled out the first iteration of the framework for key identified subsystems across the entire department in a matter of weeks.
Shaping product roadmap and customer-driven strategic market insights with a Western European rail electronics supplier
Nova Mobility Consulting was engaged by a leading Western European rail electronics supplier to provide a strategic review of their current competitive product positioning and orient their future product development. This was done as part of a bi-party consulting team to deliver a market positioning fact base, key insights and competitive recommendations, as well as a customer-driven insight map that led to the needed technological stack of the future. The technological stack was then overlayed with their current product roadmap in order to reveal gaps, potential duplication of effort and areas of low/high growth. The strategic review was used to guide investments in new software and hardware offerings, as well as for finding new sales opportunities through innovative use of their existing portfolio.
Designing mobility of the future strategy for a Southeast Asian public transportation operator
As part of a strategic initiative to guide its operational investments and position itself further ahead of competitors, a leading Southeast Asian public transportation operator engaged the services of Nova Mobility Consulting in a multi-party strategy project to define its vision for mobility of the future in densely populated cities. Nova Mobility led the creation of the technological and operational landscape of today as well as the roadmap for tomorrow, including all forms of current and future urban mobility, including commuter rail, metros and trams, scooter and bike-sharing operations, autonomous vehicles (AV), advanced air mobility (AAV), and more. The result of the work, a vision for 2030, was presented at a global summit in Europe as part of the operator's initiative rollout. As an extension of the aforementioned project, Nova Mobility provided industry expertise and insights to help shape how and where the operator could expand its presence in other modes and markets.
Business development advisory and support for a Western European cybersecurity supplier
Nova Mobility Consulting was engaged by a Western European cybersecurity supplier to help improve its understanding of European rail companies and their buying behavior, identify short- and long-term market opportunities, build relationships with key end-customer decision-makers, generate new business opportunities and lead key bids in Europe. Thanks to Nova Mobility's deep expertise in rail technology and operations, as well as extensive market knowledge and network across the rail value chain, Nova Mobility allowed the client to win its first contracts with three key European rail operators via public tender and direct award, and established strategic partnerships with leading rolling stock manufacturers and technology partners.
